Acting Classes In Sydney

Freedom of expression is just one of the many benefits your child will enjoy by being part of acting classes in Sydney. Children will be given the opportunity to explore their creative potential through speech, movement, performance and more. Creative kids are so wonderful to teach as they unlock the world of their creativity and imagination. We help them do this through our kids acting classes, encouraging creative risk-taking, building confidence, and supporting their learning journey in a way that suits them.

Acting involves creating a fictional character using movement, gesture, and intonation for the stage, for the movies, or for television. It is the actor’s job to embody the character they are playing and to draw their audience into the story by engaging them. All roles combine to make a successful production, whether it is a lead role or a minor part.

Getting into character can be done in a variety of ways, and actors often take the time to research the jobs, hobbies, or pastimes of the characters they play to put themselves in their shoes. Acting is all about pretending to be someone you are not.

Acting provides a great creative outlet for children to explore different personalities, likes and hobbies. It involves ‘playing pretend’ and gives them the opportunity to pretend to be someone they aren’t. Acting fosters confidence and creativity. It is a perfect choice for creative performers.

Is Acting Right For Your Child?

Acting is all about emotions. It’s about recreating emotions and having empathy for various characters. Acting means children have to get in touch with their characters thoughts, feelings and actions. This often leads them to evaluate their own actions and feelings. It is a way of self-expression and provides the means to express how one is feeling. Acting is perfect for parents who are looking for their children to become more expressive and confident in expressing who they think and feel.

Acting breeds empathy. We can better understand people if we know what motivates them. Knowing what motivates other people helps actors empathise with them and communicate effectively. Empathising and communicating effectively will help the children throughout their lives. Acting provides them with the experience needed to build social skills that will help them navigate challenges in their later lives.

Acting teaches children to be adaptable. They learn to improvise and readily adapt to changing situations. This flexibility is a quality that is highly sought after in the working world. Actors are often taught to be less reactive when challenges come up and are able to accept last-minute changes. This readily prepares them for adulthood.

Acting also encourages confidence. It encourages children to explore their individuality and see what they enjoy and don’t enjoy. It helps them navigate social situations and make lifelong friends. By getting up in front of an audience, they are readily able to become more confident. The more they act,  the more confident actors tend to be. This is perfect for children who are looking to grow their self-confidence and individuality.

What Will Your Child Learn Acting?

In addition to teaching children how to project their voices across the room without harming their vocal cords, we teach them how to control their tone of voice, pacing and other oratory skills to connect with an audience Presenting in class and taking part in a group discussion require developed oratory skills, which actors learn in our classes.

Our acting classes for kids can help students develop important soft skills that are essential for academic success, such as oral communication skills, empathy, listening and self-discipline. We run regular exercises within our classes to build on all of these, allowing our kids to become better performers.

Our students learn to build their work from the inside out. They are taught to ask the who, where, what and why and analyse why their characters is acting and responding the way that they do. They are taught critical thinking and are encouraged to analyse their characters prior to performing. Our classes encourage performers to express the life and actions of their character.

At LA Talent, we believe in giving each of our performers a firm, age-appropriate grounding in the disciplines of acting. We teach age-appropriate technique and make sure our classes are filled with fun to keep you child entertained. We offer various performance opportunities throughout the year to help them grow as actors.
